This website is the source for current information regarding the activities of James A. Knauer, the Receiver appointed by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana (the "Court") to oversee the liquidation of Heartland Financial Services, Inc. and JMS Investment Group, LLC (the "Companies").  Mr. Knauer was appointed on the 21st day of August, 2000 upon motion of the Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") in an action brought to enjoin the sale of the securities by the Companies.  The other names on this website are business names that have been used from the offices of the Companies at various times.  If you transacted business with any of the below named businesses and are owed money by them, you may be a creditor of the Companies.  For purposes of the liquidation, it is likely (but not yet certain) that all of the above named businesses will be treated as one. The job of the Receiver is to collect the assets of the Companies, convert them to cash and distribute the proceeds to the Companies' creditors.  The Receiver is also charged with determining the correct amount of each creditor's claim in order to assure that the amount distributed to the Companies' creditors is fairly divided. Since there are hundreds of investors, the primary purpose of this website is to provide information to the investors about the status of the liquidation and related legal proceedings.
